Meet Ella: A Day in the Life of a Bridal Outlet Jacksonville Stylist

Meet Ella: A Day in the Life of a Bridal Outlet Jacksonville Stylist

At Bridal Outlet Jacksonville, our stylists are more than consultants—they’re trusted guides who help brides discover the dress that makes them feel confident, radiant, and ready to walk down the aisle. Each stylist brings their own personality and story to the boutique, creating a unique experience for every bride who walks through our doors.

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Ella, one of our amazing stylists, as she shares her journey, her favorite parts of the job, and advice for brides beginning their dress-shopping experience.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you became a bridal stylist?

I am currently a senior at the University of North Florida pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. I’m originally from Illinois but have lived in Florida for the past five years. I became a bridal stylist through my sorority sister, who also worked here!

2. What inspired you to work in bridal fashion specifically?

I had never worked in the fashion industry before, but the potential of seeing brides fall in love with a dress they could envision walking down the aisle in inspired me to work in bridal.

3. How long have you been a stylist, and what’s your favorite part of the job?

I have been a bridal consultant for a little over a year now. My favorite part of the job is seeing the joy and happiness on the bride and her family’s faces when she finds “the one.”

4. What’s the first thing you ask a bride when she comes in for an appointment?

I always love to ask how the bride is feeling and who she brought with her. Wedding dress shopping can be nerve-racking, so I like to see where the bride is at emotionally so I can help make the experience everything she has dreamed of.

5. How do you help brides who feel overwhelmed or unsure of what they want?

Bridal gown shopping can be overwhelming, so I like to start with small questions: Do you feel confident in this dress? Are you comfortable? Would you change anything about it? These are easier for brides to answer than asking outright if it’s “the one.” If a bride is unsure of what she’s looking for, I try to pull dresses in different styles and shapes, then pinpoint what she’s loving and what she’d like to change.

6. What are some common misconceptions brides have about wedding dress shopping?

I would say the most common misconception is expecting to have an emotional “ah-ha” moment when you find your dress. Every bride is different, and not everyone has that experience. What matters most is how you feel in the dress and whether you can picture yourself walking down the aisle in it.

7. What dress trends are you loving right now?

I’m currently loving a clean and classic look—whether it’s a sheath fitted gown or a structured A-line.

8. What’s something most people don’t realize about being a bridal stylist?

Most people don’t realize that bridal stylists are your biggest hype team! You can ask us anything. We want brides to have the most unforgettable experience with us.

9. What’s your #1 piece of advice for brides just starting the shopping process?

Be open-minded, because you may be surprised by a style you didn’t initially envision for yourself. I’d also say that trying on a lot of gowns can get overwhelming quickly, so always stay true to yourself.

10. What should brides bring (or avoid bringing) to their appointment?

It’s important to bring friends and family who are supportive and have your back. However, too many opinions can make the process stressful—so keep your group small and positive.

11. How can a bride make the most of her bridal styling experience?

Always come with inspo for your appointment, and it’s even better if it’s pulled from our boutique’s inventory! That way, your stylist can be on the same page as you, making the process as smooth as possible.

12. Any last thoughts for brides-to-be?

No matter what, you are going to be stunning on your wedding day—and the memories will last a lifetime!
